About CHED-Tulong Dunong Scholarship

The government organization in charge of overseeing higher education in the Philippines is called the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

The CHED-Tulong Dunong Scholarship program is one of its attempts to assist students who are financially strapped but intellectually capable.

In order to help deserving and qualified students who are enrolled in undergraduate programs, the CHED-Tulong Dunong Scholarship program is a government-funded scholarship.

The scholarship program pays for the scholar’s tuition, other educational costs, and a monthly stipend for living expenses.

Eligibility Criteria

The following requirements must be satisfied in order for an applicant to be eligible for the CHED-Tulong Dunong Scholarship program:

1. Must be a Filipino citizen

2. Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program in any CHED-recognized public or private higher education institution in the Philippines.

3. Must have a general weighted average (GWA) of at least 80% or its equivalent in the previous academic year for freshmen students, and at least 85% for continuing students.

4. Must have a combined annual gross income of parents/guardians not exceeding Php 400,000.

5. Must not have been a recipient of any government-funded scholarship or financial assistance.

6. Must not be a graduate of any degree program.

Application Process

Depending on the CHED regional office where the applicant’s school is located, the CHED-Tulong Dunong Scholarship application procedure differs.

The general procedure, however, consists of the following steps:

1. Check the deadline for submission of applications at the CHED regional office where the applicant’s school is located.

2. Secure and complete the application form from the CHED regional office or download it from the CHED website.

3. Attach the following supporting documents:

  • Certificate of Enrollment
  • A certified true copy of the grades obtained in the previous academic year
  • Certificate of good moral character
  • Income Tax Return of parents or Certificate of Tax Exemption

4. Submit the completed application form and supporting documents to the CHED regional office where the applicant’s school is located.

5. Wait for the announcement of the results of the scholarship program.

Renewal of CHED-Tulong Dunong Scholarship

Scholars receive the CHED-Tulong Dunong Scholarship on a per-academic-year basis.

To continue receiving the scholarship, students must maintain a GWA of at least 80% or its equivalent and not have any failing grades.
