About Ghana Scholarship Secretariat

The Office of the President created the Ghana Scholarships Secretariat in 1960 as an extra-ministerial organization with the responsibility of overseeing all government scholarships, both domestically and overseas.

Requirements

To be a beneficiary of the Ghana scholarship secretariat, you must meet the following requirements:

Local Tertiary Scholarships

  • Should have been accepted to a nearby university or college
  • Continuing students should submit their online applications between April 1 and May 15, every academic year.
  • Each academic year, late-admitted new students should submit their applications between September 1 and September 30.
  • During the application process, candidates will take an online aptitude test.
  • Attend a panel interview in the district of your choice.
  • The applicant’s information will be sent to their respective institutions for validation and confirmation.
  • The Scholarships Secretariat will send electronic award letters to the chosen candidates.
  • Scholarship entitlements are paid to the appropriate institutions.

Foreign Tertiary Scholarships
