New Colombo Plan Scholarship

About the New Colombo Plan Scholarship

By encouraging Australian undergraduate students to study and work abroad in the Indo-Pacific, the Australian government’s New Colombo Plan (NCP) seeks to increase awareness of the region in Australia and strengthen institutional and interpersonal ties.

The New Colombo Plan Scholarship is a prestigious and competitive program that offers Australian undergraduates the chance to participate in exchange programs abroad for up to one academic year in one of the designated destinations.

The curriculum also provides provisions for community participation activities, related language studies, and internship and mentorship opportunities.

Students interested in participating in a student exchange program at one of the authorized locations should submit their expressions of interest to UNSW.

Up to 10 candidates may be nominated by UNSW to apply to the coveted scholarship program.

In approved Indo-Pacific host locations where UNSW has an exchange agreement, such as P.R. China, India, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam, NCP Scholarship Programs may be held.

You will be requested to list your preferred sites on the Expression of Interest form, so be sure to be flexible with your exchange locations.
