About UVU Scholarships

Utah Valley University (UVU) offers a variety of scholarships to help students cover the cost of tuition and other expenses associated with attending college. 

These scholarships are available to both incoming and current students and range from merit-based awards to need-based aid.

Types of UVU Scholarships

These are the different types of scholarships available at Utah Valley University.

1. Merit-Based Scholarships

UVU offers several merit-based scholarships that are awarded based on a student’s academic achievements. These scholarships include:

a. Presidential Scholarship

This is the most prestigious scholarship offered by UVU and is awarded to incoming freshmen who have a high school GPA of 3.95 or higher and a minimum ACT score of 30 or SAT score of 1390. This scholarship covers full tuition and fees for up to four years.

b. Dean’s Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen who have a high school GPA of 3.8 or higher and a minimum ACT score of 26 or SAT score of 1230. This scholarship covers full tuition and fees for up to two years.

c. Regents’ Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen who have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher and a minimum ACT score of 22 or SAT score of 1100. This scholarship covers up to $1,000 per semester for up to four years.

d. UVU Academic Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen who have a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher and a minimum ACT score of 21 or SAT score of 1060. This scholarship covers up to $1,000 per semester for up to two years.

e. UVU Transfer Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to transfer students who have completed at least 24 credit hours at another institution and have a minimum GPA of 3.5. This scholarship covers up to $1,000 per semester for up to two years.

2. Need-Based Scholarships

UVU also offers several need-based scholarships that are awarded based on a student’s financial need. These scholarships include:

a. UVU Opportunity Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen who demonstrate financial need and have a high school GPA of 2.5 or higher. This scholarship covers up to $1,000 per semester for up to two years.

b. UVU Need-Based Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to current students who demonstrate financial need and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. This scholarship covers up to $1,000 per semester for up to two years.

c. UVU Single Parent Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to single parents who demonstrate financial need and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. This scholarship covers up to $1,000 per semester for up to two years.

d. UVU Diversity Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to students from underrepresented populations who demonstrate financial need and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. This scholarship covers up to $1,000 per semester for up to two years.

3. Other Scholarships

In addition to the scholarships listed above, UVU also offers several other scholarships that are awarded based on specific criteria. These scholarships include:

a. UVU Athletic Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional athletic ability.

b. UVU Talent Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional talents in the arts, such as music or theatre.

c. UVU Service Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to students who have a strong record of community service.

UVU Study Abroad Scholarships: These scholarships are awarded to students who participate in UVU’s study abroad programs.

To be considered for UVU scholarships, students must submit a scholarship application through the UVU Scholarship Portal

The application deadline for most scholarships is February 1st for the upcoming academic year. However, some scholarships have different deadlines, so students should check the UVU Scholarship Portal. Best of luck!
