Students must be in need of financial assistance and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in order to be eligible. Candidates must submit a 500–850-word personal statement outlining their career objectives.

Additionally, candidates must submit a copy of either a student assistance report or a California Dream Act application, as well as a letter of recommendation from a STEM professor.

It seeks students for its scholarship program who have leadership abilities or community involvement in underserved areas.
