What is the required Subject Combination for Public Administration degree in Nigeria? The JAMB subject combinations for admission to public administration programs at Nigerian universities are discussed in this article.
These are the specifications established by JAMB for the UTME, direct entry (A level), and subject combinations for special consideration or waiver.
Unquestionably important criteria in getting accepted into the tertiary university of your choice in Nigeria to pursue your selected course of study are fulfilling the requirements and having the suitable subject combinations for the course as demanded by the school you wish to study.
If you are unable to meet this condition, your chances of being admitted to the school and the course you so desperately want to enroll in during that particular admission year are often eliminated. It’s more crucial to have the correct topic combinations than it is to just pass each subject with a credit or distinction.
JAMB Subject Combination For Public Administration
Candidates must have obtained at least 5 credits in the appropriate topics on their O-level exams (NECO, GCE, and WAEC) in order to be considered for a position in public administration. The following JAMB UTME subject pairings are required for individuals planning to pursue public administration:
- English language
- Mathematics
- Economics
- Government.

WAEC Subject Combination For Public Administration
A potential applicant for public administration must obtain at least a credit grade in each of the following five O’Level subjects:
- Mathematics,
- English,
- Government,
- Economics,
- and any other social sciences subject like History, Commerce, Accounting, etc.
Accepted JAMB Score For UTME
Although the cut-off mark for admission to any academic institution is normally 180, entrance in the nation is frequently strangled, let alone a course like Public administration, which is highly competitive. A score of more than 200 is regarded as secure.
You can apply to Polytechnics and Colleges of Education, which also offer this course if your JAMB score is less than 180.
Admission Requirement
Candidates must satisfy the following basic prerequisites in order to enroll in any of the below-listed universities to study public administration:
1. a) There are four necessary subjects: English Language, Government, Economics, and any other two courses with a combined minimum of five (5) “O” level credits in each. It should be mentioned that understanding mathematics is not a prerequisite for studying public administration.
2. b) Candidates must obtain the necessary cut-off score for their preferred university or polytechnic. You will have a better chance of being accepted to the university of your choice to study public administration if you achieve a minimum score of 240 or higher.
The aforementioned requirements are the bare minimum requirements for university programs in public administration. However, the institutions will inform you of any additional criteria when you fill out their post-UTME admission applications
