Scholarships are awarded to selected students to attend accredited universities’ Master’s programs in nuclear-related topics. Also, They have the chance to participate in an internship program run by the IAEA for up to 12 months.


Application for the Marie Curie Fellowship Programme

The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme (MSCFP) of the IAEA has opened its fourth application season. Applications from women who want to study nuclear-related disciplines are invited to be submitted before September 30, 2023.

Type and Extent of Funding

Employment agreement (often full-time) with a monthly wage that includes a family allowance, living and mobility allowances, and other benefits as needed. Funding however is given to hosting institutions for management, indirect costs, networking, and research.


12–24 months. Researchers who spend that time in a non-academic organization located in an EU member state or an associated nation may be granted an extended period of up to 6 months, provided that the proposal justifies it.


  • Ph.D. degree at the time of the application deadline (no more than eight years after the date the Ph.D. degree was awarded).
  • Adhere to the mobility rule: In the 36 months prior to the call deadline, candidates could not have lived or engaged in their primary activity (work, study, etc.) for more than a year in either the beneficiary’s country (for European Postdoctoral Fellowships) or the organization hosting the outgoing phase (for Global Postdoctoral Fellowships).
