About Vidyasiri Scholarship 2024

A new scholarship program has been established by the state of Karnataka for those who need financial support to complete their study.

The Government of Karnataka’s Department of Backward Classes Welfare is particularly offering this scholarship.

To help them continue their studies, deserving students from disadvantaged groups are encouraged to apply for the Vidyasiri Scholarship program.

The scholarship application form submission period has begun. To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, the candidate must reside permanently in the state of Karnataka.

Vidyasiri Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the scholarship, the applicant must meet the following eligibility criteria:

1. The applicant must be an Indian citizen and a resident of Karnataka.

2. The applicant should have studied in Karnataka for a minimum of 7 years.

3. The candidate must belong to the backward class category and provide a valid caste certificate as evidence.

4. The applicant should have completed their graduate, postgraduate, professional, or professional postgraduate degree by 2019.

5. The candidate should belong to a reserved class, such as SC (Scheduled Caste), ST (Scheduled Tribe), OBC (Other Backward Class), or EBC (Economically Backward Class).

6. Students must have scored at least 90% marks in their last qualifying examination from a government-recognized board.

7. The candidate should have a minimum of 75% attendance in college for the scholarship fund to be disbursed.

8. The candidates must have linked their Aadhar card to their bank account since the scholarship amount is directly credited to the bank account.

9. For applicants under the Prakash scheme (SC/ST), the annual family income should not exceed INR 2,50,000 from all sources.

10. For candidates under the 2A, 3A, and 3B schemes (OBC/EBC), the annual family income should not exceed INR 1,00,000 from all sources.

It is important to note that all the applicants must get their bank account linked with the Aadhar card.

Vidyasiri Scholarship Rewards

The scholarship program offers the following rewards:

1. There are 1000 scholarships available for students in the SSLC category.

2. Students in the Class 12 category can receive 500 scholarships.

3. An additional 500 scholarships are specifically designated for candidates pursuing general courses in graduation or postgraduation.

4. Candidates pursuing professional degrees in technical, medical, and related sciences are eligible for 500 scholarships.

5. SSLC candidates are awarded a scholarship of INR 10,100.

6. Class 12 students receive a scholarship amounting to INR 15,000.

7. Those pursuing graduation degrees are granted a scholarship of INR 20,000.

8. Candidates enrolled in post-graduation courses receive a scholarship of INR 25,000.

The Pratibha Puraskar Scholarship scheme directly deposits the scholarship funds into the bank account of the selected recipients.

Vidyasiri Scholarship Documents Required

To be considered for this scholarship, you must submit the following materials:

1. School and College issued Transfer certificate (TC)

2. Scan a copy of the bank passbook linked with Aadhar.

3. Passport size color photograph

4. SSLC Hall Ticket Number

5. Aadhaar Card or EID Number

6. Caste Certificate issued by Tahsildar or Sub Tahsildar

7. Income Certificate

How to Apply

To apply for the scholarship, follow the straightforward procedure provided below:

1. Access the Vidyasiri web page of the scholarship by clicking on the provided link.

2. Scroll down and navigate to the student zone.

3. On your screen, you will find the three categories of scholarships.

4. Choose the scholarship that you wish to apply for.

5. Click on the “Apply Online” option.

6. The SSP Scholarship Portal will appear on your screen.

7. If you haven’t registered yet, complete the registration process on the portal. If you are already registered, log in using your credentials.

8. Select the Vidyasiri scholarship from the list of available scholarships.

9. The application form will be displayed.

10. Fill in all the required details in the application form.

11. Upload all the necessary documents as specified.

12. Review all the information provided.

13. Once you have verified the details, submit the form successfully.

14. Take a printout of the duly filled application form.

15. Send the printed form to the district officer responsible for your area.

Vidyasiri Scholarship Application Status

To check the status of your application, follow the simple steps outlined below:

  • Access the official web page of the scholarship by clicking on the provided link.
  • Click on the “Student Service” button.
  • A drop-down menu will appear on your screen.
  • Select the “Application Status” option.
  • A new page will open.
  • Enter your details as required.
  • Fill in the captcha code.
  • Click on “Get Status.”
  • The application status will be displayed on your screen.
  • Print the application or acknowledgment for your reference.

Printing Scholarship Details

  • Open the Official Website of BCWD Karnataka.
  • The homepage will appear.
  • Select the “Student Services” option.
  • Choose “Know Your Application Number.”
  • The form to Print the Application/Acknowledgement will open.
  • Enter the necessary information.
  • Click on “Get Scholarship Details.”
  • The details will be displayed on the screen.

Submitting a Grievance

  • Click on the provided link to access the official web page of the scholarship.
  • The homepage of the website will open.
  • Select the “Grievance” icon on the home screen.
  • A new website called IGPRS Karnataka will open.
  • From the homepage of IGPRS Karnataka, click on the “Login” option.
  • If you are already registered, enter your login details in the popup window.
  • If you are not registered, click on “New User Registration.”
  • After registration, submit your grievance through the provided options.
