Rangel Fellowship

Rangel Fellowship Graduate Program

The Rangel Graduate Fellowship is a program designed to attract and prepare exceptionally talented individuals for careers in the U.S. Department of State’s Foreign Service, where they can contribute to the development, representation, and execution of U.S. foreign policy.

Each year, the Rangel Program carefully selects outstanding Rangel Fellows through a highly competitive nationwide process and provides them with support for two years of graduate studies, internships, mentoring, and professional development activities.

This program particularly encourages individuals from minority groups with a historical underrepresentation in the Foreign Service, as well as women and those facing financial challenges, to apply.

Successful completion of the program, along with meeting Foreign Service entry requirements, leads to appointments as Foreign Service Officers, in accordance with relevant laws and State Department policies.

Rangel Fellows are dedicated to serving their nation and fostering positive global change.

Graduates of the Rangel Program are currently making significant contributions in various countries worldwide, including Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Venezuela, South Africa, Nigeria, Angola, China, Korea, Bangladesh, Spain, and Ireland.
