Ranchi University
Ranchi University was established on July 12, 1960, as an autonomous university after being carved out of the former Bihar University. (RU Gazette Notification Certificate, 1960_framed.)
The University began with ten Postgraduate Departments, one Constituent College, and twenty associated Colleges; presently, it has 22 Postgraduate Departments, 19 Constituent Colleges, and 47 affiliated Colleges that serve about 1.6 lakh students.
Since its inception, this University has provided vital services to a large portion of the underprivileged young generation in order to make higher education accessible to a large population in a dominant tribal territory.

Placements 2024
Ranchi University 2024 placements are underway. Currently, 44 students have been placed. The highest package and average package were INR 7.25 LPA and INR 4.68 LPA, respectively.
Furthermore, the median and mean packages offered at Ranchi University placements in 2024 were INR 2.26 LPA and INR 2 LPA, respectively.
Admissions
Ranchi University admissions for 2024 will open soon. University admittance is mostly merit- and entrance-based.
The University offers undergraduate and graduate programs in fields like as medicine, psychiatry, law, engineering, and business management, among others.
Ranchi University admits students to courses based on both merit and entrance examinations. The university accepts several national-level entrance tests, including CUET, CAT, JEE Main, and MAT.
The University also provides doctoral-level courses, such as PhD and MPhil. Ranchi University conducts admission tests to determine eligibility for this course.
Currently, the University has 23 postgraduate departments, 15 constituent colleges, and 49 associated institutions that provide education in a variety of subjects.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria

For offline admission, candidates must come to campus to purchase and submit the form in person. The university admits students with a valid score in a course-specific entrance exam as well as a valid score in the most recent qualifying exam.
