What Is Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Scholarship?

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
1. The applicant should be a domicile of Maharashtra state or belong to the border of Maharashtra and Karnataka.
2. Candidate should be currently in Class 12 or have passed the board exams.
3. The applicant must belong to the Maratha community.
4. He/she should be pursuing any professional/non-professional course approved by the DHE at a Government-aided/Non-government-aided/Partially aided/Unaided/Permanent Unaided college/institution.
5. The applicant’s annual family income should not exceed INR 8,00,000 from all sources.
6. The candidate should have taken admitted to the course through the general quota.
7. Students pursuing part-time/distance learning/correspondence courses are not eligible to apply.
8. Only the first 2 children of a family are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Rewards and Benefits
The scholarship offers the following rewards and benefits to the candidates:
1. Up to 100% coverage of tuition fees and exam fees.
2. The scholarship encompasses more than 605 courses, including Medical, Engineering, and other professional courses.
3. Over 5 lakh students receive benefits from this scholarship annually.
4. Students pursuing Professional courses in Government-aided/Non-government-aided institutions with an annual income limit under INR 2,50,000 receive 100% tuition fee coverage.
5. Candidates pursuing Professional courses in Partially aided/Unaided/Permanent Unaided institutions with an annual income limit under INR 2,50,000 receive 50% tuition fee coverage.
6. Students pursuing Professional courses in Government-aided/Non-government institutions with an annual income limit of INR 2,50,000 – INR 8,00,000 receive 50% tuition fee coverage.
7. Candidates pursuing Professional courses in Partially aided/Unaided/Permanent Unaided institutions with an annual income limit of INR 2,50,000 – INR 8,00,000 receive 50% tuition fee coverage.
8. Students pursuing Non-Professional courses in Government-aided/Non-government/Partially aided/Unaided/Permanent Unaided institutions with an annual income limit under INR 8,00,000 receive 100% tuition fee coverage.
9. An educational expense of INR 5000 is provided.
10. Students pursuing Professional courses receive 50% coverage of the exam fees.
11. Students pursuing Non-Professional courses receive 100% coverage of the exam fees.
12. An allowance of INR 5000 is provided for books and stationery.

These are the documents required for this scholarship:
1. Domicile certificate
2. Annual Income certificate of the previous year authorized by the tehsildar
3. CAP-related document (for B.Ed, Law, MPed, BPed students)
4. Gap-related document (applicable in case of Gap)
5. Family declaration certificate regarding the 2 children
6. Attendance certificate
7. Previous year’s mark sheet
Terms and Conditions
To be eligible for the scholarship, the following terms and conditions must be taken into consideration:
1. Candidates who received the scholarship last year should apply for renewal.
2. Students should not have a gap of 2 years during the course.
3. The candidate must attend every annual/semester exam to receive the scholarship benefits.
4. The applicant should not be receiving any other scholarship/stipend from any other sources during the course.
Application Process
To apply for the scholarship, follow the simple procedure provided below:
1. Visit the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Scholarship website.
2. The login page will appear on your screen.
3. Click on the ‘New Applicant Registration’ option.
4. The registration form will be displayed.
5. Enter all your details.
6. Verify your email ID and mobile phone number to complete the registration.
7. Proceed with the Aadhar authentication process using either OTP or biometric verification.
8. Those who choose OTP authentication will receive an OTP on their registered mobile number.
9. Successfully complete the registration process.
10. Log into the MahaDBT portal using the newly created username and password.
11. Fill in the application form with personal details, communication details, academic information, etc.
12. Upload all the required documents along with the application.
13. Click on ‘Submit.’
14. Now, finalize the application process.
15. Don’t forget to take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.
