Mike Rowe Scholarship

The Mike Rowe Scholarship aims to redefine the definition of a good education and a good job because they don’t think a four-year degree is the best path for most people. They want people to comprehend how skilled labor affects their lives, and we are sure that the solution must begin with a renewed respect for labor-intensive tasks.

Mike Rowe Scholarship

Each year, Mike Rowe gives away a small amount of money through the Work Ethic Scholarship Program to help people get the training they need for sought-after specialty jobs.

It has been established that the job opportunities in the trades are actual options, not alternatives.

There is no substitute for putting forth a lot of effort. Since their establishment, they have contributed more than $5 million in Work Ethic Scholarships and other initiatives or organizations that share a similar goal of bridging the skills gap.

How does Mike Rowe Define Work Ethic?

Taking the S.W.E.A.T. Pledge

In 2008, Mike was attempting to find a means to express the qualities he valued the most. He finally came up with the S.W.E.A.T. Pledge, which stands for “Skills and Work Ethics Aren’t Taboo.”

It is a set of guidelines that place a strong emphasis on the importance of individual responsibility, postponed gratification, and a positive outlook—all traits that we believe every employee may benefit from embracing.

Full disclosure: We accept the fact that it isn’t right for everyone. But everyone who applies for the Work Ethic Scholarship Program must accept and sign it.

Work Ethic Scholarship Decisions are in:

“We were overwhelmed by the record number of applications we received from people who appreciate the importance of work ethic, personal responsibility, delayed gratification, and a positive attitude. We planned to give away $1,000,000 in scholarships, but we’ve upped our game. We’re excited to announce that we’ve selected 250 recipients this year who will receive a total of $1,500,000 in work ethic scholarships. A special thanks to everyone who applied, and congrats to this year’s recipients.”
