Tufts University

Founded in 1852, Tufts University is a private university. As of fall 2022, there are 6,815 undergraduate students enrolled overall, and the campus spans 150 acres.

The academic calendar is based on the semester. Tufts University is ranked #40 among National Universities in the 2024 edition of Best Colleges. The total cost of attendance is $67,844.

Situated not far from Boston’s downtown, Tufts University is home to several graduate and professional schools, including the highly regarded School of Medicine and Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, in addition to the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering, which serves both undergraduate and graduate students.

It is mandatory for all freshmen and sophomores to live on campus. Students can join student organizations like the Geological Society, the all-male a cappella group Beelzebubs, and cycling, a club sport.

Roughly 25% of students are involved in Greek life, while almost half of the student body takes part in study abroad programs.

Tufts University offers graduate and undergraduate degrees to international students. There are about 70 available majors at the undergraduate level.

Undergraduate study options include the arts, humanities, social sciences, engineering, health fields, and mathematics, among others.

Tufts University provides more than 150 graduate-level academic options. More specifically, there are about 100 master’s degree programs available. Graduate-level study areas include science, computer science, engineering, business and management, and the arts and humanities, among others.

International students are not eligible for any merit-based scholarships at Tufts University. However, while applying to the university, international students who are struggling financially can apply for need-based scholarships.

Every admitted student at Tufts has their financial need met. The difference between the annual cost of attending Tufts (which includes books, personal expenditures, and transportation to campus) and the annual contribution that the student’s family is expected to make is the demonstrated need.

The university is dedicated to upholding and growing its international campus community, despite the fierce competition for financial aid for international students.
