Mpower Women in Stem Scholarship: Do you work in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics as a woman? Do you want to advance as a woman in academia? Then submit an application for the MPOWER Women in STEM Scholarship 2024, which aims to alleviate educational inequity.
The Women in STEM Scholarship was established by MPOWER Finance to empower women in acknowledgment of the exceptional potential of women in the sciences.
The scholarship focuses on women who will utilize their STEM degrees to advance society. And also, who have the ability to act as role models and supporters of women in STEM.
What is Mpower Women in STEM Scholarship 2024?
This scholarship initiative targets female students who have the ability to be role models and champions for women in STEM and who will use their STEM degrees to improve society and the environment.
This is in line with MPOWER’s mission to enable high-potential global citizens to pursue their educational goals and emerge as the top scientists and innovators of the future.
Who is Eligible?
Get admission to or enrollment in a full-time degree program at a university in the United States or Canada that MPOWER supports.
Be an international student who is eligible to lawfully study in either Canada or the United States, as appropriate. This indicates that the candidate satisfies one of these requirements for study in the United States:
- Possesses a valid visa allowing them to study in the US.
- The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals protects (DACA)
- Is a citizen of the United States (Green Card holder)
- This means the candidate satisfies one of the following requirements for study in Canada:
- Resides permanently in Canada
- Possesses a valid study visa for Canada
This grant has been developed especially for international and DACA students. Citizens of the United States and Canada who want to study in their respective countries are therefore ineligible for this scholarship.
You need to be taking one of the following classes:
Applied Science, Game Design & Development, United States, Geology, Medicine, Nutrition, Physics, Health Professions, Biology/Life Sciences, Computer & Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, United States, Aviation, Nursing, Dental/Orthodontics, Chemistry
Prize Details
There will be three scholarship winners chosen. The first-place winner will receive a $3,000 MPOWER Scholarship (each, a “Prize”), which can be used for tuition, fees, or other costs at the recipient’s college of choice. Two more winners will each receive a scholarship worth $1,000 and $500.
Students may enter the Scholarship just once (the “Entrants”). Any granted Prize cannot be exchanged for another. A Prize may not be sold, assigned, or otherwise transferred (“Transfer”) and will only be given to the person who submitted the Entry.
Any information about a scholarship or attempted transfer is invalid. All additional information about the reward will be left up to MPOWER’s exclusive discretion.
Selection Process
The quality of the applicant’s written essays, which should show clarity of thought, compelling goals and vision, and superior English writing skills, will be considered along with the applicant’s academic record and (if applicable) professional distinction, their potential to make significant contributions in a STEM field that will benefit people and/or the environment, and their past performance and/or potential as a role model.
The initial eligibility review of applications will be conducted by MPOWER personnel and/or contractors. Thereafter, MPOWER staff or vendors will complete the initial round of review.
All eligible applications in this round will be subjected to a basic English spelling, grammar, and writing test. Essays in applications that are either too brief or poorly written will be rejected.
In the second phase, the remaining applicants will be rated from 1 to 5 for each of the 4 selection criteria (equal weights applied).
The top 10 submissions will be further evaluated by a panel of judges, which may include MPOWER employees or members of the United States. The panel may decide to conduct phone or Skype interviews with any of these ten finalists.

How Do Recipients Receive Their Scholarship?
MPOWER will confirm the winners’ eligibility after choosing the winners. After such verification, a Release will be sent to all winners.
The monies will be distributed directly to the winner’s institution or university after MPOWER receives a completed Release from the winner, subject to any restrictions of relevant U.S. or United States.
Winners who cannot be authenticated or who fail or refuse to execute the Release forfeit their right to the scholarship, and MPOWER will choose a new winner in their stead.
How Do I Apply?
In order to lessen the stress of applying for scholarships, MPOWER’s application process is straightforward.
Step 1: Evaluate our application.

Step 2: Answer YOUR essay prompt.
Write a brief essay of no more than 500 words describing your STEM achievements, your future United States, and how your education will help you reach them.
Step 3: Create Your Resume.
MPOWER is interested in learning more about you. Add a resume with a description of your achievements in academia or in the workplace.
Include a list of your extracurricular activities from your time in college or after receiving your graduate degree if you don’t have a resume. Don’t forget to list any positions of leadership you’ve held along with any honors or distinctions you’ve won.
Step 4: Edit, Then Submit
Make sure the information on your application is accurate and free of grammatical and spelling errors by going over it. Hit “Submit” to enter for a chance to win after you’ve read it over and made sure everything is good.
