The Knight-Hennessy Scholars initiative at Stanford University nurtures a diverse and interdisciplinary cohort of emerging leaders from across the globe, guiding them to collaborate, innovate, and effectively communicate in their preparation to tackle intricate societal challenges.

Via the King Global Leadership Program, scholars will enhance their knowledge, develop skills, and fortify their character through community engagements, workshops, interactions with leaders, both local and international study journeys, and personal growth opportunities.

Encompassing all 7 schools at Stanford, the Knight-Hennessy Scholars represent a collection of talented individuals, forming a varied and multidisciplinary scholarly community.

This program provides a platform for purposeful leadership growth, empowering participants to create substantial positive changes on a global scale.

Eligibility Criteria

There are two fundamental requirements for eligibility:

Firstly, alongside your application for Knight-Hennessy Scholars (KHS), you must apply to, be admitted to, and enroll in a full-time Stanford graduate degree program.

This includes a range of programs such as DMA, JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA, MPP, MS, or PhD. You should fulfill at least one of the following four conditions:

1. You are simultaneously applying to KHS and a full-time Stanford graduate degree program, intending to commence both in the same year.

2. You have received an offer of admission to a full-time Stanford graduate degree program and deferred it, planning to apply for KHS to begin both in the same year.

3. You are a current Stanford graduate student who intends to apply for a second full-time Stanford graduate degree program, with the aim of starting both KHS and the new program in the same year.

4. You are a current first-year Stanford PhD student, planning to apply for KHS to commence in your second year of PhD studies.

Secondly, you must have obtained a U.S. bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized and reputable college or university in January 2017 or later.

For consideration to join the cohort in 2024, your bachelor’s degree must have been earned by January 2017 or afterward.

How to Apply

To be eligible for the scholarship, it’s essential to submit separate applications to both the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program and your chosen Stanford graduate degree program concurrently.
