The GM Foundation is pleased to provide support for the Scholarship program. Students who excel in and out of the classroom and who might not be able to pay for college without financial support are recognized via the General Motors college scholarships program. It’s a reward for the person you’ve become and the impact you’ve had on the world.

Buick Achievers Scholarship Program Organizers

Since its inception in 2011, the Buick Achievers Scholarship Program has given 3,450 students scholarships totaling more than $28 million.

For a maximum of four years, scholarship schemes are renewable in order to complete a university degree. However, five-year engineering programs are exempt from this system’s use. As a result, scholarships are given to engineering students and are renewed for a maximum of five years.

Furthermore, not all scholarships are revolving. Some of the eligible applicants receive a one-time Scholarship benefit, whereas others receive ongoing benefits as described in the previous paragraph.

In reality, the Buick Achievers Scholarships recently gave 1,100 needy students financial aid.

Out of the total, 1,000 scholarships included a one-time $2,000 award for each chosen applicant. The remaining one hundred were scholarships with a total value of $25,000 per year that were renewable.

About the General Motors Foundation

The General Motors (GM) Foundation is a professionally run organization that offers college students opportunities and up-to-date information on internships, co-ops, and scholarships.

GM sends money to organizations that manage scholarships rather than giving them out directly to students. Every year, the BuickAchievers Scholarship Program ranks as one of the most effective scholarship programs in the country.

The 50 States’ inhabitants may apply for the Buick Achievers Scholarship Program, which offers Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) courses with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Full-time enrolment is the current status.

For the seventh consecutive year, scholarships funded by Buick Achievers will be given to college students who show a passion to learn math, science, technology, and engineering (STEM), performing well in school, and giving back to their community.

Female students, people of color, first-generation college students, people in the armed forces, and their dependents are all given special consideration. The Buick Achievers Scholarship Program has given 3,450 students more than $28 million in scholarships since it began in 2011.


Eligibility for Buick Achievers Scholarship Program:

Applicants to the Buick Achievers Scholarship Program must:

  • Be juniors or seniors in high school, graduates from high school, or current postsecondary undergraduates.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate studies for the entire academic year at a recognized four-year institution or university located in the United States or Puerto Rico. Online and proprietary schools are not permitted.
  • Plan to major in a program of study that focuses on engineering or technology, or choose courses of study that are related to design. Through their website,  you may view the list of majors that are acceptable.
  • Using these fields of study, demonstrate a desire to work in the automobile industry or other related fields.
  • Possessing citizenship from the United States and residing there permanently.

How to Apply for Buick Achievers Scholarship Program in 2023

You must first register as an applicant on the scholarship website before you can submit an application for The Buick Achievers Scholarship Program.

Then, finish the application by supplying details about yourself and your academic accomplishments after activating your account by accessing your email.

Award Amount

The Buick Achievers Scholarship Program will give away 50 Buick Achievers Scholarships, each worth up to $25,000 and renewable for up to four years. Additionally, applicants who enroll in a five-year engineering program will receive an additional year of funding.

The awards may be applied to the whole amount spent on schooling, fees, books, supplies, necessary gadgets, housing, board, and other approved costs.


Supporting Documents

Specific documents needed to complete the scholarship application procedure are known as supporting documents. However, the following papers are required before the application may be processed:

  • Financial data about your parents or guardians is based on their most current tax payment record. You will need to provide your personal financial details if you are an independent student, though.
  • A thorough overview of your employment history and involvement in extracurricular activities from school and the community.
  • Your grade report card(Note that online transcripts have to include the student’s name, college name, grade, and hours of credit for every subject/course and term/semester in which it was taken).
  • The Buick Achievers Scholarship application has a current deadline of February 27 each year. This indicates that, for each year that registration is open, the cutoff is typically set in February.


Buick is providing scholarships to help students realize their aspirations of pursuing careers in automotive engineering. The company however provides up to $25,000 in annual scholarships that include tuition reimbursement and supplies for needed courses. For consideration for these scholarships, you must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident with a minimum GPA of 2.7.
