Osmania University
The University College of Engineering (UCE) is the oldest and largest engineering college in the former state of Andhra Pradesh.
Established in 1929, eleven years after the founding of Osmania University. It was the sixth engineering college established in British India.
The College relocated to its current permanent structure in 1947. Today, it is the largest campus college in Osmania University. The College celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 1979, Diamond Jubilee in 1989, and Platinum Jubilee in 2004.
The University declared the college autonomous in 1994, followed by the UGC in 2010. The College is subject to the University’s NAAC accreditation with an A+ grade and its UGC autonomy rated Category-I.
In 2023, the institution received ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015, and 50001:2018 accreditation.
The College got and successfully completed the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP-I, II, and III) projects worth Rs. 40.00 crore from the Government of India.
The institution has developed three centers of excellence: Centre Product Design, Development, and Additive Manufacturing (CPDDAM), Cyber Security and Cyber Law, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML), and has signed MoUs with industry and foreign universities.

Ranking
The NIRF 2023 Rankings place it 36th in the ‘University’ category and 64th in the ‘Overall’ category. Furthermore, in the QS World University Rankings 2025, OU University Hyd is ranked between 1201 and 1400.
Admission Process
Osmania University offers a wide range of academic programs, including 27 undergraduate, 68 postgraduate, 2 PhD, 24 PG Diploma, and 15 Certificate degrees, which are available in both full-time and remote learning formats.
Admission to postgraduate, PG Diploma, and five-year Integrated courses is made possible by the Common Post Graduate Entrance Test (CPGET), an online computer-based test (CBT), followed by an online counseling session for final selection.
Merit-based admission is also available for degrees such as BA, BSc, and BBA at Osmania University Hyderabad Telangana.
OU University Hyderabad also accepts state and national-level exams for admission to several Osmania University courses.
The university recognizes TS EAMCET scores as admission to its BE/BTech, BPharm, and DPharm programs.
The TSICET test is accepted for admission to Osmania University Telangana’s MBA and MCA programs. It also accepts CAT and XAT results for admission to its MBA program.

Osmania University Hyderabad, through its constituent institutions, affiliated colleges, campus colleges, and departments, provides a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degrees.
The institution provides UG courses in BA, BCom, BBA, BE/BTech, BPharm, and BSc. At the postgraduate level, it provides MA, MSc, MCom, MTech, and MBA courses.
MBA and BSc degrees at Osmania University Hyd are quite popular among students. It provides the BSc course in a variety of specializations, including Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, and Geology. Hyderabad Osmania University BSc admission is dependent on the results of the Class 12 examinations.
OU University Hyderabad’s Department of Business Management provides the MBA program. It is a two-year, full-time program consisting of four semesters.
