About New Era University
The New Era Educational Institute (NEEI) had its beginnings as a high school, opening its doors on June 17, 1975, in its initial location on Echague Street, which is now known as Carlos Palanca Street, in Quiapo, Manila.
In 1977, it achieved recognition as a private, non-stock, non-profit, and non-sectarian educational institution after meeting the requirements of Corporation Law.
Also, In 1981, the institution underwent a transformation when it obtained collegiate status from the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports (MECS) and granted degrees to its first 12 collegiate graduates, leading to its renaming as New Era College (NEC).
Subsequently, in 1995, nine years after the establishment of its permanent campus in New Era, Quezon City, NEC was elevated to ‘University’ status by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), adopting the name New Era University (NEU).
NEU is unwavering in its commitment to providing access to non-traditional higher education and early childhood education programs.
It offers a wide range of programs across its five campuses: NEU General Santos City, NEU Pampanga, NEU Quezon City (Main), and NEU Rizal. Notably, the institution hosts its graduation ceremonies at the Philippine Arena in Ciudad de Victoria, Bulacan, which holds the distinction of being the world’s largest indoor arena.
With over 15 colleges under its umbrella, NEU remains dedicated to its mission of offering courses that are responsive to contemporary educational needs.
