Jiwaji University
Jiwaji University Gwalior was established on May 23, 1964, under M.P. Government Ordinance No. 15 of 1963. On December 11, 1964, the late Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the then President of India, laid the foundation stone at a huge campus of about 225 acres of land at Naulakha Parade ground.
This was a substantial contribution from the Scindia family, particularly Kailashwasi Maharaja Shrimant Jiwaji Rao Scindia and the late Rajmata Shrimati Vijayaraje Scindia.
The institution was named after Kailashwasi Shrimant Jiwajirao Scindia as a permanent tribute to his charisma. The university’s slogan is embedded in its logo, Vidyaya Prapyate Tejah.
The university has been experiencing exponential growth for about forty-seven years. It has also made progress that may be compared to other national/international academic institutions.
The university fraternity has given its all to the expansion of this institution, which is flourishing and fragrancing in the harsh terrain of Chambal and Gwalior, as well as promoting higher education for the betterment of people’s lives.
During the IX-Plan, the University offered to be assessed and accredited by UGC’s National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
The committee praised the approach to inter-disciplinary teaching, extracurricular activities, health and public awareness programs, strong student-teacher relationships, a transparent admissions process, a global student profile, sensible resource utilization, and research quality.

Candidates seeking admission to various degrees must participate in the Jiwaji University Gwalior admission procedure.
Jiwaji University provides undergraduate degrees such as BA (Hons), BCom (Hons), and BSc (Hons), among others. Jiwaji University’s postgraduate programs include MSc, MA, and LLM, among others. At the research level, the university provides PhD and other courses to students.
Admissions
Candidates must meet the Jiwaji University Gwalior eligibility criteria to be considered for admission to UG and PG courses.
Jiwaji University’s course admissions are conducted online. Jiwaji University Gwalior admits students to several courses based on merit and entrance exam scores. The recognized entrance exams for admission to various courses are JEE Main, CMAT, and others.
Placements
Jiwaji University Gwalior has yet to announce its placement reports for 2024 and 2023 officially.
However, according to the Pharmacy NIRF report 2024 provided by the University, the median package offered for Jiwaji University BPharm and MPharm placements 2023 was INR 1.45 LPA and INR 1.9 LPA, respectively.
Furthermore, according to the Jiwaji University NIRF report 2023, the median package offered during Jiwaji University’s UG 4-year and PG 2-year placements in 2022 was INR 2.4 LPA and INR 3 LPA.
