Federal Polytechnic Bauchi was founded in July 1979 by Decree 33 (Act 33) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, along with six other institutions, with the objective to run full-time and/or part-time programs focusing on technology, applied science, commerce, management, and in other pertinent fields necessary for advancing Nigeria’s development.

A Brief History Of the University

It is located on the Bauchi – Dass Road in the village of Gwallameji. Sanusi Waziri Gumau is the polytechnic’s current rector. 2020 saw the permission of the institution that offers courses leading to the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma awards to conduct nine-degree programs in partnership with Abubakar Tafewa Balewa University, Bauchi.
