About CG Scholarship
The CG scholarship for the year 2024 is being offered by the Social Welfare Department of Chhattisgarh, with the objective of supporting and providing opportunities to students from the SC/ST/OBC/Minority categories.
The Government of Chhattisgarh has already disbursed a total of INR 165 crore as CG scholarships to over 275,000 students.
This scholarship amount represents a substantial increase compared to previous years, demonstrating a five to six-fold rise.
Under the ‘Shiksha Sahyog Scholarship program, students at both the pre-matric and post-matric levels receive educational funds every six months.
Furthermore, the ‘Shiksha Protsahan scheme’ offers financial assistance to students pursuing professional education.
Different Types of CG Scholarships
The government of Chhattisgarh provides numerous scholarship opportunities to eligible and deserving students in the state, aiming to assist them in pursuing and completing their education.
Students can access comprehensive information about these scholarships and submit their applications through the online Chhattisgarh State Scholarship Portal 2.0, managed by the Social Welfare Department.

1. Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC Students
This scholarship is provided by the Department of SC/ST Welfare
Eligibility Criteria
Students who have already pre-matriculated must apply.
The candidates’ total annual household income cannot be more than INR 2,000,000.
Awards
A scholarship worth INR 450 will be awarded to male students each year, while INR 600 will be awarded to OBC girls who qualify.
Every year, eligible SC/ST male students will receive an 800 INR scholarship, and eligible SC/ST female students will receive a 1,000 INR award.

2. Rajya Chatra Vritti Scheme
This scholarship is provided by the Department of SC/ST Welfare
Eligibility Criteria
SC/ST girls in classes three through five or SC/ST/OBC pupils in classes six through eight may apply.
Income tax cannot be levied against the applicant’s family.
The applicant’s family may not possess more than 10 acres of land.
Awards
Every year, meritorious female students in Classes 3 through 5 will get a stipend worth INR 500.
Each year, SC/ST girls in Classes 6 through 8 who qualify will get INR 800 in scholarships, while male students will receive INR 600.
Each year, OBC girls who qualify will receive INR 450 in scholarships, while eligible male students would receive INR 300.

3. Post Matric Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC Students
The Department of SC/ST Welfare is the organization offering this scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
The family income for SC/ST applicants cannot exceed INR 2,50,000, and for OBC applicants, it cannot exceed INR 100,000.
It is a requirement that applicants be engaged in post-matriculation study.
Awards
Non-hostellers will earn INR 2,250 each year, and SC/ST hostellers who qualify will get an INR 3,800 scholarship.
The qualified OBC candidates will receive the following:
Class 11 students pay INR 1,000 a year, while class 12 students pay INR 1,100 annually, as the hosteller cost.
Non-hostellers are required to pay INR 600 for Class 11 pupils and INR 700 for Class 12 students each year.

Eligibility Criteria: The applicants must be girl students studying in Class 5 and above.
Award: The eligible girl students will receive a scholarship worth INR 500 every year.

5. Unclean Business Scholarship Scheme
The Chhattisgarh Social Welfare Department is offering this scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
Students in Classes 1 through 5 are required to apply.
Only a select few occupations, not all of them, are eligible for the program. Students from households that work one of the jobs listed below are eligible:
- Scavenging families
- Flayer families
- Tanners
- Waste picking/ collecting families
The pupils must present their family’s annual income certificate.
Award: The eligible applicants will receive a scholarship worth INR 1,850 every year.
