The Postgraduate Academic Excellence scholarship is accessible for students enrolled in Postgraduate Taught (PGT) courses at Brunel University London.

This scholarship is open to all students who have achieved a First-Class undergraduate degree, either from a UK University within the UK or at an overseas campus, or those who have obtained an equivalent of a UK First Class degree from an EU institution.

Moreover, alumni of Brunel University London will also be eligible for the Graduate Discount, entitling them to a 15% reduction in the final tuition fee amount owed, subsequent to the application of any scholarship grant.

To be eligible, they should be enrolling in a taught postgraduate program while fully self-funding (including career development loans).

1. A deduction of 15% from the tuition fees.

2. The deduction is specifically applied to the tuition fees and does not extend to any other supplementary fees that might arise, such as fees for resubmission, repeating modules, or resits.

Eligibility Criteria

The Scholarship will be granted to students enrolled in full-time, part-time, distance learning, or online learning modes, provided they satisfy the following conditions:

1. Possess an unconditional acceptance for enrollment in a taught Master’s program at Brunel University London, encompassing MBA and MRes programs.

2. Hold a First Class honors degree from a UK or EU University.

For UK degrees: The degree must be from a UK University, without requiring attendance at a UK-based campus.

  • In instances where a first-class classification isn’t present, a degree with distinction is acceptable.
  • Holding a higher degree without obtaining a First Class classification at the undergraduate level does not qualify for this award.
  • For EU equivalents: The degree must be from a recognized EU institution and correspond to a First Class honors degree, as detailed in appendix 1.

Who are Those That Are Not Eligible for This Scholarship?

This discount is applicable to various categories of applicants:

1. Those enrolled in all associate courses or modules.

2. Individuals participating in short courses.

3. Students pursuing PGCert, PGDip, and PGCE programs, except for PGCE Secondary Education with PE and PGCE Primary (excluded from Government’s Teacher Training bursaries).

4. Candidates enrolled in Postgraduate Research courses.

Individuals receive full or partial funding, except for those whose fees are covered by their employers. This does include:

1. Bursaries provided by the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL). The discount applies to courses not eligible for a bursary, specifically PGCE in Primary Education and PGCE in Secondary Education with PE.

2. Students in the PG Cert Education (Primary) FT program.

3. Courses fully funded by the Environment Agency, such as MSc Flood and Coastal Engineering.

4. Students sponsored by their Government.
