About Alagappa University
Located in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu, Alagappa University Re-accredited with an ‘A’ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) can be reached within two hours from Madurai and Tiruchirappalli Airports.
All of the academic activities are housed on the 440-acre, beautiful, green campus. From the constellation of establishments that renowned philanthropist and educationist Dr. RM. Alagappa Chettiar initially established, this university has arisen.
The government of Tamil Nadu created the University in May 1985 by a Special Act, with the aim of promoting research, development, and information sharing across multiple fields of study.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) of India has granted recognition to it as an official academic institution.
On its campus, the university contains two constituent colleges, five centers, and eighteen departments. The University is made up of 28 Affiliated Colleges that are situated in the Sivaganga and Ramanathapuram districts.
The university provides instruction in four modes: collaborative, weekend, distance, and regular. A range of programs are available to students located both domestically and abroad through the Distance Education Directorate.
The University serves the needs of the approximately 1.0 million students in its student body through all forms of instruction.

Admission Process
Alagappa University admits students to 158 different courses. Admission to Alagappa University is granted to candidates who meet the requirements and successfully finish the admissions process.
The online application form must be completed by students, who must also attach all necessary supporting documentation.
Only once the application fees have been paid will the form be deemed submitted. University of Alagappa M.B.An entrance exam is required for admission, which is then followed by a group discussion and a series of individual interviews.

The Alagappa University placement unit works to achieve this goal by developing and coordinating career development programs throughout the year.
Eleven students from Alagappa University in Karaikudi were placed in the UG (3-year program) in 2020–21, with a median income of Rs 1,44,000. In 2020–21, 80 students were placed from the two-year PG program, with a median income of Rs. 1,80,000.
Scholarship
Scholarships are available to students at all levels at Alagappa University. Scholarships to Alagappa University are offered by both the Tamil Nadu and federal governments.
These awards are specifically intended for deserving students or those from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.
