Amet University
The Academy of Maritime Education and Training (AMET) is an AICTE-approved private institution for higher education in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, established in 1993.
It offers a range of programs, including B.Com, B.E./B.Tech, B.Sc., BBA, Certificate, M.E./M.Tech, M.Phil, M.Sc., MBA/PGDM, and UG Diploma, across five streams: Accounting and Commerce, Business and Management Studies, Engineering, IT and Software, and Science.
With 1,784 seats available, students can pursue popular specializations such as Nautical Science, Petroleum Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mining Engineering, Food Technology, Marine Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Transport and Logistics, Chartered Accountancy, Power Engineering, and Biotechnology.
The course fees at AMET range from INR 70,000 to INR 1,540,000. Students can enroll in full-time Certificate, Degree, and Diploma courses.
The average median salary for graduates is approximately INR 355,000. AMET also offers various infrastructure facilities to enhance students’ educational experiences.

UG Degree (4 years)
In the 2017-18 academic year, 523 students were admitted to the 4-year UG program at the Academy of Maritime Education and Training, with 531 students graduating in 2020-21.
Of these graduates, 381 secured jobs with a median salary of INR 350,000, and 26 chose to pursue higher studies. In the 2018-19 academic year, 395 students were admitted, and 380 graduated in 2021-22.
Among these graduates, 323 were placed with a median salary of INR 350,000, and 24 opted for higher studies.
PG Degree (2 years)
In the 2019-20 academic year, 43 students enrolled in the 2-year PG program, with 17 graduating in 2020-21.
Of these, 9 students were placed with a median salary of INR 360,000, and 5 chose to continue their studies.
In the 2020-21 academic year, 40 students were admitted, and 23 graduated in 2021-22. Among them, 14 were placed with a median salary of INR 360,000, and 4 opted for higher studies.
AMET University Facilities
The following facilities are provided to students during their time at the college:
1. The college offers on-campus hostel accommodations for outstation students.
2. Hi-tech laboratories are available for students to apply their theoretical knowledge and conduct experiments practically.
