Annamalai University Directorate of Distance Education, commonly referred to as Annamalai University DDE, is the public distance education division of Annamalai University, located in Chidambaram.
Established in 1979 in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, the university offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate courses through distance learning.
Admission to UG and PG programs at Annamalai University DDE is based strictly on merit, with candidates further evaluated through a counseling session.

Undergraduate and graduate degrees are available at the university. The available courses are evaluated as follows:
Undergraduate Program
The university provides a wide range of professional, scientific, and artistic programs. Admission to any of the university’s undergraduate programs is determined by merit, taking into account both relevant topics and marks from the 10+2 exam.
Candidates must show up for a university-conducted counseling session after being chosen for admission.
Postgraduate Program
The university provides PG Diploma, LL.M., MCA, PGDLAN, PGDCA, M.Sc., and management programs. Admission to any of the postgraduate programs is contingent upon merit, based on graduation grades and applicable subject(s).
In addition, participating in a counseling session is necessary for the ultimate selection of applicants.
Admission Process
Admission to DDE Annamalai University is determined by merit for all programs. The university provides programs in Arts, Science, Management, Fine Arts, Commerce, Social Work, Computer Applications, and other fields at the UG, PG, diploma, and certificate levels.
The Distance Education Council in New Delhi has approved the academic programs DDE Annamalai University offers.
The National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi, has authorized the B.Ed. degree delivered via distant learning.
